First Church Requirements:
Pastor in Charge - Our senior pastor will be the pastor in charge for all weddings in the church and has the right of first refusal. Another pastor may be invited to assist. This invitation is made by the pastor of First Church. Parties that want to bring their own pastor to perform the service, must speak with the senior pastor prior to that invitation.
Counseling Requirements - Those being married at First Church by the First church staff will participate in pre-marital counseling, tailored to the individual couple. A minimum of 4 sessions is required.
Music Requirements - our organist, Marcia has right of first refusal (which means she is the first choice for the music for the ceremony) for all services. She also has the final approval on all music to be used throughout the wedding.
Restrictions
No smoking or alchoholic beverages in the building or on the grounds.
Rose Petals, Bird Seed, Rice and Bubbles - Rose petals thrown by the flower girl are considered an appropriate part of the ceremony. Bird seed and bubbles may be used outside the building. Rice is not allowed to be used for throwing or celebrating on the church grounds.
Photography and Videography - Both are allowed. Flash pictures are at the discretion of the bride and groom. No equipment or personnel may be forward of the kneeling rail during the service.
